Coma: Desired of All Nations / The Christmas Star is the very first painting in Casey McCulley’s constellation series, completed just days before Christmas in 1985. The artwork beautifully captures a mother holding her precocious two-year-old child, with the brilliant Christmas Star—a striking nova—placed thoughtfully above the toddler’s head, symbolizing hope and wonder.
